My wife and I had a wedding here during May 2016 before our senior year at OSU. The price was affordable, and my wife was looking forward to having her dream outdoor wedding ceremony. In the midst of final preparations, both families had forgotten to pay the $100 fee to have the rehearsal at the ceremony location. Three months later, my mother-in-law called the vineyard to see why they had never returned the $500 security deposit. The owner, Jeanette, was extremely rude to her over the phone, and refused to return the deposit because we did not schedule the rehearsal and did not pay the $100 fee. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Jeanette listing our violations, including that we were trespassing on the day of the rehearsal and that we did not send a confirmation of wedding plans. Most of her allegations were false, and we had email evidence to prove it. We contacted a lawyer, who was hung up on by Jeanette and wrote a letter of defense to the vineyard. I made a face-to-face visit at the vineyard, calmly asking for clarification about the situation and providing email evidence as defense against her claims. Not only did Jeanette walk away during our conversations while I was asking her about our email records, but she also called the sheriff and we were warned to never come back.
This was a very unprofessionally handled situation on the Vineyard's part. Since their most prominent allegation was that we did not pay the fee for the rehearsal, we expected and offered that they simply remove it from the security deposit. They had no desire to do so. During the face-to-face visit, Jeanette claimed a new allegation that we violated guest safety by allowing our guests to use an old bridge on the property, claiming it was unsafe for use and was a direct violation of the contract. However, this very same bridge was the one that Jeanette personally took four of us across twice during our initial visit. We took extra precaution on the wedding day to mark (with our own signs) the "safe" route for guests because our guests complained that the vineyard's signage was not present.
Tried 5 wines and bought 3 of them all were excellent. Going back to get more. Rick
Dont get me wrong the enchanted woods ceremony site is GORGEOUS! but what you dont realize when you are too busy fantasizing your wedding day is that there is NO ELECTRICITY! THERE IS NO PLACE FOR YOU AND YOUR WEDDING PARTY TO GET READY AT! THEY WONT EVEN LET YOU GO IN THE WINERY BECAUSE SUPPOSEDLY THERE ARE "PEOPLE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TRAVELING TO THEIR WINERY" THAT IS A JOKE! I HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND THE PLACE IS EMPTY EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!! THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE ME PAY $100/ HOUR TO RENT THE WINERY OUT SO ME AND MY FAMILY COULD GO IN THERE AND RELAX AND VISIT AND GET DRESSED AND TAKE PICTURES WITH EVERYONE AND WITH OUR PHOTOGRAPHER....... ONLY CATCH IS THEY WERENT GOING TO CLOSE IT OFF FOR YOU! THEY WERE STILL GOING TO HAVE IT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?! WHAT IS THE POINT IN RENTING IT OUT WHEN IT IS STILL OPEN????! THESE PEOPLE ARE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY! PLAIN AND SIMPLE! not accommodating at all! The ACTUAL DAY OF THE WEDDING THEY ONLY HAD OUT 60 CHAIRS AND WE PAID FOR 100!!!!!!!!!! THEY WERENT EVEN GOING TO PUT ANY MORE OUT TIL MY DAD SAID SOMETHING TO THEM! ALSO, THE WOOD CHIPS (WHICH WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE SIGNED THE CONTRACT) WERE OLD AND LOOKED LIKE CRAP! WHEN MY DAD ASKED IF THEY COULD PUT FRESH DOWN LIKE THE OTHER WEDDING SITE WAS HE RESPONDED WITH "NO" ALSO THEY WERE BRUSH HOGGING THE DAY OF MY WEDDING???! I HAD THAT WEDDING SITE BOOKED FOR A YEAR!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE RIDICULOUS! JEANETTE IS A BATTY OLD WOMEN AND PUTS ALL HER PROBLEMS OFF ON HER SON MARCUS AND CONTINUES TO BE RUDE. THE VENUE WAS $800 AND A $300 DEPOSIT...... NOTTTT WORTH IT! YES THE SITE IS GORGEOUS, BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY YOU CAN FIND BETTER, MORE, CHEAPER, AND MORE ACCOMMODATING FOLKS ELSEWHERE. you are basically paying $800 for the chairs (which they rob of you of the correct amount) and the site... PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. WHEN WE WENT IN TO DO WINE TASTING THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING THE GIRL ONLY GAVE US ENOUGH WINE TO DAB ON OUR TONGUE... EVERY WINE TASTING I HAVE BEEN APART OF GIVES YOU A GOOD AMOUNT. WE CONTRIBUTED WAYYY TOO MUCH MONEY TO THESE MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE! ALSO MY SISTER IN LAW CALLED JEANETTE AND WAS MAKING SURE IT WOULD BE OKAY TO COME OUT AND MEASURE THE PEW... JEANETTE STRAIGHT UP TOLD HER "NO!" THAT SHE WOULD GO OUT AND MEASURE IT AND SEND HER THE MEASUREMENTS..... HOW RUDE! PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE WITH YOUR MONEY AND TIME!
We will never recommend this location to anyone else! Based on other reviews, we were not the first to be treated like this. Beware of ways that they will find you violating their contract. Beware of their unprofessional behaviors during dispute resolution.
