Even not with the theatre being updated to be under amc, the only improvements that they have made were the pop dispensers. The audio during the movie was not good. The screens are worn out, there is a hole in the screen. There should be an overall maker over for the theater. The one thing they improved on was the one thing i didn't mind waiting on getting mu drink handed over. Everything about it is over priced. I believe the reason is because it a college town and they try to get over on us. You don't get what you pay for. The quality is pretty bad for us to be up charged. As much as they charge it should be an updated theater.
So, this theater wasn’t much when Carmike owned it. I had high hopes after AMC took over. However, they have done very little to improve the experience. It’s not the worst theater I’ve been to, hence the two star rating. My biggest complaint though, their showtimes and lack of options Sunday - Thursday. How do they expect to gain any revenue, when they only show half of their films twice a day?!
A fun place to go with family or friends. The only distractions come from other customers talking or playing on their phone during the movie. The environment is as comfortable as a theater can be. AMC has kept things in pretty much the same state that Carmike had it before. Awesome theater.
I went to see my first pokemon movie when I was 10, now that I have a kid I wanted to share the experience with him. The movie started 15 minutes late, started playing commercials in a loop, then when they fixed that it was only the video showing and some music playing over it cause the audio was off. Then they got the sound right but didn't rewind the movie all the way. It played fine for awhile then suddenly the movie turned off and the lights came back on. They got it back up but it had skipped over a huge chunk so they attempted several times to rewind it back where it was. After 3 more times of the movie either blacking out and playing with only audio, or just stopping all together, finally someone came in to say they couldn't get it started again. All the while, there wasn't even a manager on site. Your "re-admit" tickets wont fix completely dropping the ball and ruining this for me and my child who I had to console from being in tears.
Carmike was not great, but it was fine. I feel like AMC costs more, and we got less customer service. Not a fan of the buyout.
