Came in to ER in pain in my Chest and Nauseated waited 2 1/2 hours no pain relieve no nausea med till I was being released Dr. Vice nor the staff showed any compassion for this 66 year old heart patient. The absolute worst Hospital ER I have ever had the misfortune of having to experience. Never came in the room to check on me had to buzz them to ask for something to throw up in and when I asked for nausea medication THEY NEVER EVEN TOLD THE DOCTOR. Laid their in misery I will warn every member of my church about the way I was treated there.
The 3rd floor med floor are professional and caring and some of the ER nurses are as well, at the same time some of the ER Drs are pompous ass acting weasels that need to get their act together. I'll go to Hillcrest Cushing or Mercy hospital okc over SMC.
Takes 2hrs to get a glass of water and had to ask more than 6 nurses finally my mother went and got it for me. They don't put u as a priority they haven't even attempted to try and make me a lil bit more comfortable. When I was moved to be admitted the nurse up here was rude immediately
The nurses were great! The doctor was horrible. My husband sees a pain specialist and a brain & spinal surgeons due to a spinal condition he has. He's on a medication that causes tremors. We went in because he was having leg and arm tremors for almost 3 hours. At the end of it they gave him a muscel relaxer and told him basically that the tremors we're all in his head and there was no way any medical condition or problem would cause the tremors. Oh but they kept asking him if he has restless leg syndrome? I guess that's all in people's heads too? What a joke! This place is horrible. Especially when my husband's specialist advised him that if anything out of the ordinary happened to go to the nearest ER because of his condition
I haven't been this impressed with a hospital let alone any company in years! Top Notch in my book. I live in Texas and my son is a freshman at Oklahoma State University. Last week he called to inform me of a possible broken foot. After receiving full treatment and diagnosis in the ER, he tells me he didn't have his insurance card on him. I immediately assume my credit card was going to be hit with a major medical expenditure creating a hassle of refunds and credits once the insurance was filed. Yet instead he tells me the hospital simply asked him to return the next day with the insurance information and they would bill him later. Seriously, who provides services these days without upfront or immediate payment? Stillwater Medical Center cared for my sons injury and just importantly treated him with respect and trust. Thank you SMC for outstanding patient care!
